I don’t know… this journal doesn’t seem to have a point, and it does just fine.
Oi! On behalf of all the world’s bolts, I take exception to your rather ham-fisted labeling of this defect screw. Indeed there is a distinct difference between screws and bolts. For starters, all bolts have a shaft of constant diameter, unlike this screw with a tapered body. And a bolt typically can be affixed to a nut or otherwise tapped body with matching thread gauge.
Outrageous!
The only difference between a screw and a bolt is how they are used — if it screws directly into something it’s a screw; if it screws into a nut, compressing the material in between, it’s a bolt. Doesn’t matter about the points, threads or shape.
